Covid-19 Protocols for Residential Retreats
My greatest intention with our retreats is to provide the most Covid-safe environment possible so we can freely explore and share our lives through writing. Because there will be 10 of us together for several days, it’s important that we take extra precautions to care for ourselves and each other.
While the Covid-19 pandemic is fluid and things are always changing, here are our current protocols for residential Writing Retreats:
Avoid crowds leading up to the retreat: In the two weeks leading up to the retreat, please plan your schedules as best you can to avoid any situations that might put you at increased risk for Covid, colds and flu. If you must place yourself in these situations, please do your best to mitigate your exposure to illness.
Vaccinations: At this time, vaccinations are not required, although we strongly recommend a current Covid-19 updated vaccine.
Home Antigen Rapid Tests: Please take a home Antigen Rapid Test on the morning before you come to the retreat. So that everyone can be confident that all participants test negative, please text me a photo of your negative test result before you come to the retreat.
KN95 masks: Depending on the current Covid climate, and if we will be mixing with other large groups in the dining hall, I may ask our group to wear masks when going through the food line. Tables inside the hall are spaced for social distancing, and there will be outdoor seating available. We will sit outside as much as the weather permits.
Practicing these protocols should give us the freedom, flexibility, and peace of mind we need to enjoy our time together. Please bear in mind that there can be no refunds if anyone is sick or tests positive for Covid on approach to the retreat. If this happens, you can opt to participate by Zoom, which has proven meaningful and effective for those unable to attend in person at the last minute. Thank you for your patience and participation.
